Overcrowded. Rundown. Attack of the birds.
The worst part of the resort is the pigeon infestation. I couldn't figure out how this place became overrun with pigeons. All the other resorts along the beach don't have pigeon problems. This one has nets up around the restaurants yet still the birds get in so then you're trapped in a cage with these very aggressive pigeons who aren't afraid of people. It's dirty and disturbing. What's the problem? Maybe the reason no other resorts have them is because they are all here at the Hilton.
I would not recommend this resort. Especially when there are so many smaller, nicer ones just down the beach.
They nickel and dime you every step along the way. And their on-site stores and restaurants are overpriced. The sheer volume of guests crammed into this place should warrant cheaper prices. $9 for a little container of cereal at their WikiWiki Market. Really, Hilton?
Hilton needs to spend some money and update this resort. Everything is just a little too shabby and worn.
Have an ocean view room in the Ali's tower. The view is great, but the room is nothing special. There's a lot going on, with an entire shopping center essentially integrated with the hotel complex. Pools and ocean are nice, but crowded. I came for a conference and brought the family. Were it not for the conference we probably would have chosen somewhere less crowded.
Clean awesome place with a great ocean view. Food was perfect, live band right off the beach. We watched the sunset while enjoying drinks. Perfect Waikiki location, had a great time.
Very nice hotel, right by the beach and with several swimming pool options together with fireworks on Fridays. My kids had a great time. Staff was very friendly. Things we didn't like: It takes a while (15-20mins) to walk to the Waikiki main area for shopping and food so it wasn't easy for us travelling with small kids. The check-in wait time was unacceptably long.
We are very happy with this resort. This is our 3rd stay since September 2017, and we'll be back next month. The housekeeping staff takes great care of us and the location can't be beat.
