It was awesome. Close to everything. Right across the street from the beach. Older hotel but well kept. Great staff. Rooms have PlayStation and DVDs available. Resort fee is annoying but the norm in the area. Homeless problem in Waikiki but no issues at hotel or nearby beaches. All in all great stay, loved it all.
UPDATE: 3 days later:
We came from California to spend a week here in Waikiki. We were promised free breakfast, only to find out they stopped offering breakfast 3 years ago. When we got to our room, it smelled of rotten eggs/sulphur. Very gross smell. This was bad, but things became much worse when we found not one, not two, but THREE cockroaches in our room after the first night. The toilet was leaky as well, with a loose (broken?) toilet seat. Additionally, our ice bucket had mold in it on our first night.
Unbelievably, things have gotten so much worse.
Location is absolutely fantastic! Right across from the beach and close enough to the major Waikiki shopping area. The rooms don't all face the beach, though, so be aware. The rooms are nice and clean, if a bit dated. Staff is friendly and helpful. All in all, a get nice stay.
Hotel staff have been very friendly but very unhelpful. When we called front desk to report the roaches, they said they'd call us back and they did not call back. We called them after about an hour. For the excessive price, these conditions are completely unacceptable. Even if fixed, I would never stay here again. I've stayed at motel 6's better than this. Take your money elsewhere and choose a better hotel.
DO NOT STAY HERE! They over charged us extra $800 for obscure reasons with out notifying us. They take advantage of having access to your card!!! Their room was initially falsely advertised from the pictures. The furniture is really old and the size is way smaller than it looks. The bathroom ceiling opened up while I was in the bathroom and water was flowing out. We had to call someone to fix it. Even with all this after paying 1300 for 6 nights, we still got charged 800 more for a stupid reason. I highly regret staying here while their were so many nicer beach front hotels right next to it. Worst customer service!!!!
And, now, at 5 in the morning a fire alarm just went off in our room and woke us. Front desk said they are "looking into it". This hotel is absolutely trash.
The hotel moved us to another room at no extra charge to compensate for the previous issues. This move was to a downgraded room, but came with the promise that a nicer room would be open the next day. We were never notified of that room and instead, several days later, we were offered 2 rooms that were both smaller and worse than the downgrade we already received. For 4 DAYS we have been asking to speak with a manager and they have been unable to make that happen.
UPDATE: We finally were able to meet with a hotel manager, and things have been made right. Our stay was rough but we do feel that the hotel has made a fair effort to make it up to us, and we are thankful for that.
The location is excellent. Very close to the beach, stores, and restaurants. The room and bathroom was older (worn carpet, chipped tile) and felt very small. The bathroom ceiling leaked all over and into an electrical socket. The service was good. Housekeeping staff were very nice and efficient. Elevator service was super slow. Very hard to accommodate adjoining rooms.
