The pools could have been better. The paradise pool was small and crowded and if you like your lounge chairs on top of one another, this is what you get (but lets face it, this is Waikiki, so space is at a premium). The lagoon was disappointing. It is NOT part of the secure areas of the resort, its fully open to anyone. The beach around the lagoon is hard packed, so forget about digging any castles more than a hand deep. The 'Super Pool' did not live up to its name - even compared to other Waikiki pools.
This is our 2nd trip here and it won't be the last! The rooms are amazing in both the kalia and lagoon towers! But what really makes it are the staff. They're just absolutely wonderful!
Our family (2 adults, 2 kids 5/7) stayed here mid September for 7 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The room itself was great! 2 double beds in one room, a double bed in the other separated by a large lounge and kitchen area. The kitchen was fully equipped (oven, microwave, toaster, rice cooker?, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, all utensils etc).Everything in the room was in good working order and the overall presentation of the room was excellent. Each room had a large flat screen TV, the lounge had 75' TV. Nice. We had a partial ocean view overlooking the harbor. Overall the room here was very nice indeed.
Rooms are nice and views are awesome. Room service was quick and friendly as well. Also enjoyed the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. Makes me wanna buy the stuff in the lobby! Will come back for sure
Beautiful hotel, unfortunately the hotel attempts to keep you on site, and paying premiums as much as possible.
The hotel is very nice on the outside and it is always clean. The rooms are very spacious and they have multiple beds, bathrooms with toilets that have more buttons than I have ever seen before, huge flat screen TVs, one of which has a PS3 hooked up to it, complimentary water services daily, a full kitchen and my room had a detached bathtub which was great. The view from the balcony was amazing and the staff is extremely helpful. The hotel's location is right next to the Ala Moana mall. There are a few places to eat close to the hotel and a few little shops. I, personally, didn't utilize the hotel's food services because I did all business lunches/dinners but it is provided for a cost. The hotel is approximately a 15 minute walk, 6 minute Uber, from the main strip with all the food and shopping you could want. I absolutely enjoyed my time there and would come back to the hotel without hesitation.
Location was fine for us, bit more of a walk to shops and restaurants (not in HVV), but all easily within reach. Check in was speedy (as was check-out). Make sure you check the cost of Parking shortly before you arrive - it went up 3 times since we booked! I also dislike (a criticism of hotels in general) the concept of the 'resort charge' which is not optional !
