we will never stay again, we were assured it had been newly renovated but that was not the truth and far from it. mould in the bathroom, old cupboards in bathroom, shower trickled if at all, the air con was so noisy and if that didn't keep you awake the traffic noise with cars and motorbikes screaming up and down outside all night. The hotel left earplugs on the nightstand so obviously they knew it was bad. The air con from the balcony above us had leaked through the roof and there was a terrible dirty bare patch on the ceiling. Most of the fixtures in the bathroom were rusty. The staff at reception with the exception of the girl we felt were quite rude. We had taken my son and his wife on the holiday with us as an anniversary gift so we were so disappointed with the overall hotel. We had been on holiday in Hawaii last year and used the Marriott Courtyard and could have gone with that hotel again but being assured as we were that the Coconut was a newly renovated boutique hotel we went with that. I would not recommend the Coconut Hotel. If I could have posted without a star I would have done that as well. Worse thing for us was that we had to endure this for 10 nights.

This hotel was a great place to stay in Waikiki! Not only is it super cute (but yes, a tad retro), there is a solid free breakfast every morning (it's continental, but you can make your own waffles and they serve eggs) and the staff were all very friendly. They have guest laundry, but it's coin-operated, and valet parking (it was $30/day with in and out privileges when I stayed there). It's right on the Ala Wai Canal, and walking distance form all the attractions near Waikiki Beach. I'd definitely recommend this hotel!

Very good hotel! Everything clean, location great as well. During the day you can get 24-hours refreshments in lobby and in the aftermoon popcorn. If you want to go to the beach, you can get towels, sun umbrella and beach chairs for free! Breakfast is tasty - scrambled eggs, yogurt, bread, coffee, juice, waffles...

For the price, it's more than fair. It's a family hotel with a good continental breakfast. The kitchenette was a life saver especially if you have little children. Tip: get yourself a reusable Keurig coffee basket and some grounds from the store to use in the hotel coffee machine.... Or go down to the lobby and get it for free.

Overall alright. Rooms are very small and showers practically require an owner's manual. The complimentary refreshments and breakfast are very generous. Good for a night or two, but I wouldn't recommend a longer stay.
