We waited 25 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport, and the driver was rude when we complained about it. When we arrived at our destination with the rental car, we were informed that we could not get a parking permit as our license tags were expired. The first person I contacted at the rental company hung up on me. The second person was very helpful, found the updated registration, and immediately faxed it to our location. If you are looking for cheap, I suppose this is it. They charge for an extra driver whether you buy the insurance or not, which brought the cost up quite a bit. The car itself was old, had a LOT of miles on it, and smelled of cigarette smoke. Still, I suppose you get what you pay for.
This is the worst place I’ve ever rented a car from in my life! It was cheaper than some of the other rental places but there’s tons of reason why. The guy was very rude and totally unreasonable. This car had over 82,000 miles when I got it. You couldn’t see out of the windows front or back it was filthy! The brakes squeaked when I went out of the lot and I should’ve took it back then. I had my family with me over Christmas there and the big junk everywhere we went was listening to the brakes squeak every time we come to a stop. Before the week was over we had a tire with a low pressure light which we filled up no problem. And then the service engine soon light come on. And that thing would just barely keep an idol at a stop. I would not recommend this rental company to anybody.
The only issue I had was the airport shuttle does not come as often as the other airport shuttles. The guy at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The car was ready in minutes. This was the best price car I could find on any of the travel sites.
Cheapest online rental company for a reason. If you don't mind picking up a car from an inconvenient location far from airport, or having a dinged up and dirty vehicle, or poor/rude customer service, this place is the cheapest option. However next time we will spend a little more for a more enjoyable experience (especially if you're on vacation).
Found cheapest price with Economy after searching for hours online. However, it was in fine print that the Economy hours for the Honolulu Airport are until 10 pm. My flight was getting in shortly after 10 so I called customer service to double check if I would be able to get the car that night as it allows me to book online. The man I spoke to was very short and responded "no... the desk closes at 10" and offered no further help or apologies. Do not waste time.
