Rate online was the best for the dates I needed the car. The service was slow because it was on Friday, December 22, 2017. The beginning of Christmas weekend. Understandably the line to get the car was long. However the car was clean, ready to roll and easy to find in the parking lot
If booked and paid for in advance, the price is great. Service is attentive and speedy. Overall the best the competition has to offer on the island.
That being said, I truly enjoy the interactions I've had with the rental counter. Lori helped us the other day with our rental and she was a delight! Warm and friendly, but also professional and thorough. I'll be renting again from this location because of the people. They have a great team at the counter, and they truly show the Aloha spirit of the islands with their smiles and kindness.
My significant other forgot that he had left his phone in our rental car. When he realized it, he ran back to the car rental place and the gentleman that had checked us out had already grabbed his phone, assuming we would realize a cell phone was left behind and flagged him over to give him his phone. It was a little stressful as we had been traveling abroad for almost 3 weeks and were exhausted. We are grateful how helpful they were in grabbing the phone and assuming we would notice it had been forgotten.

Staff was as helpful as their experience let them be. The renting part was easy but when it came to the insurance, it was confusing and expensive. What a racket, the car rental would have been reasonable but the insurance is just way to expensive. After we paid we were pointed to the door and told to go left, push key alarm till you find your car. Then fill out these papers on how the condition of the car is at that moment and place them on the wall. When you come back, park in same spot. Now imagine coming off a 5hr flight, getting herded over there, and told all that in few minutes. Fast yes, but pay attention. That's what they want so you don't look at the bill till it's too late. Just not the experience you want to start off a vacation. The good, car ran fine, and it was easy to get back. Will take limo next time. It was that expensive.
One other thing to note here, their prices are the best! Compared to all the other sites I searched, Advantage definitely offers the best prices for car rentals in Hawaii. I even turned a friend onto their website, who, like myself resides within the islands, to their site as it's just become a racket on renting cars in the islands; even for us locals!
This location has always been great for friendliness and great people! I'm only taking a star off because the last two rentals I've had, the vehicles were NOT cleaned well. Interiors both had sand on the carpet, and at least one empty bottle sitting in the car in visible spots. Not sure how these were missed in two different vehicles, but it does show a pattern of sloppiness in the cleaning process.
