they gave me a broken rental fiat car. After 30 miles car wont start, they came and exchange me for a nissan and charged me $158. The Nissan can run better than the fiat(which is a dead car). Nissan also was old and not safe to drive. Some how they did not inspect cars before rent them out to customers. Worst place ever. They ruined my vacation period. BEWARE. Zero Star
Booked through Expedia, asked for a 4 door economy. Was told I had to take a Smart car. Informed the counter person I needed a 4 door car, so they offered me a Fiat. Oh and btw, you used a debit card to book? Here we are charging you either $1000 precharge, or $89 a day, just because of using a debit card.

Arrived on Oahu on July 24, 2017. Rented a Camry (full size car) from Economy Rental Car (A1) for 10 days. Other than the near hour wait in line to rent the vehicle, all went fine with acquiring the car and the rental process. There is a 10 minute ride via a shuttle from the airport to Economy's lot. Local staff were friendly and accommodating. The reason check-in was slow was because there were only 2 check-in desks and a lot of us arrived close to the same time. Return of the vehicle was easy and quick. No issues during our ten days with the vehicle. Economy (A1) does appear to either obtain older cars or keep their rentals longer because the car did have many scratches on it and had 36,000 miles on it. The price was great at $30 per day with unlimited miles which is why I took a chance on renting from them. I would have provided 5 stars; but, I am not because they did not return my deposit. I called after one month to make them aware and ask for my refund. The person on the phone said I did not provide a deposit. I replied I must have provided one because the charge on my card was for $498. I explicitly recall my rental being $300. She asked for my order #; unfortunately, I trusted them to do the right thing and do not have it a month later. Surely, they could have looked up the order & e-mailed me a copy so I can see whether I am in error or not. I will call again today and request a copy. If they respond and refund me or if I am incorrect, I will change this to 5 stars; if not, it will remain at 2 thus meaning I do not recommend them. George Abercrombie
Terrible customer service. Employees doing the bare minimum. Car is ready to die any minute. Don't even know how it's safe to drive. The brakes are ready to give out any minute which is extremely dangerous considering how much uphill and downhill driving there is. Also didn't have washer fluid which also made it dangerous to drive at night when I had nothing to wash my windshield with. Definitely not worth it. Pay the extra for a more reliable car so you're not stressing while on vacation
If I could leave a 0 or negative number for my review I would ! Poor service, poor cars, poor everything! Then they had the audacity to try argue with me how no other car rentals accept debit cards, idiot, I travel for a living, I do all my car rentals with my debit cards. It’s so ghetto and they have you wait outside in the hot sun. I never leave reviews but I’m doing this in hopes of saving someone a nightmare. We have four kids too, no kind of help on and off the shuttle, NONE! All the swear words!!! Unhappy start to our happy vacation
