I have been a loyal and positive Volvo owner for more than 10 years. Recently, my needs changed so I turned in my Volvo that I was leasing and received an "excess wear" fee of almost $3,000! This is not justified because when I leased the Volvo it already had 3466 miles on the vehicle plus extensive wear and tear inside and outside. I was told an employee had been using the vehicle and that is why I got "a fair leasing agreement." However, they did not tell me about the "excess wear" clause. Being that I had been a loyal Volvo customer I signed the lease agreement in good faith. So now, Volvo financial leasing company is asking for the "excess Wear fee" of $3K and says I need to ask Volvo Honolulu to help pay for the Excess Wear Fees. I have left several messages and emailed the fleet manager and have received NO Response! I am very disappointed especially after having been a long time customer! This is the first time I have publicly complained about a company, but this is a financial and customer service INJUSTICE! So any Future Honolulu Volvo customers Beware of the hidden agendas behind their Nice Smiles because they cannot be TRUSTED!!

I never enjoyed the process of buying a car. That is, until I met Stevie Bolton at Volvo Honolulu. The shark waters of browsing, prove negotiations, and the pressure to get the quick sale, it was always an annoyance. The approach, care, and salesmanship from Stevie at Volvo Honolulu was realistic, no-nonsense, and absolutely refreshing. She didn't just try to sell me a car, but rather genuinely listened to what I was looking, and gave me great options to fit my desires in a vehicle. Their finance staff worked hard to match up or beat any rate I was pre-approved for; which was a step beyond in my book. The after sale treatment has been equally accommodating.

I can't believe it. I agreed to purchase a used vehicle at $12000.00 with the agreement that they would fix the driver side door that would not open. That was the agreement. However, when I called back to check to see if it was fixed they changed their minds and said its "As Is" and would not fix the door as promised. They are not to be trusted.

Awesome sales department great staff parking is tight very tight. Lene was friendly and great. He worked with us and provided an unbelievable experience. Service is not what I would expect from a "luxury brand" don't receive call backs they don't have a voicemail in the main service number. I have had and been serviced by Mercedes, BMW, Caddilac, and Chevy this is at the bottom as far as customer support. Not what I would expect after buying their flagship vehicle. It has been 2 days and I still do not have a status on my vehicle.

Aloha,

I read a few of the bad reviews on Facebook and they all seem to come down to a lack of knowledge about Hawaii. First, treat people with respect and they are more likely to treat you with respect. Second, treat people like o'hana and they are more likely to treat you like o'hana. Third, do your homework and use some common sense. I read about a guy in California that bought a $72,000 Volvo for his aging father in Kauai, and then he complained about the service. Are you kidding? The dealership is on O'ahu. Why would he think that that would work out well. Buy your father a Toyota Tacoma. That is what almost everyone on Kauai drives. But the salesman said . . . They are salesmen. The truth is not their closest friend. Know what you are buying and know what service is available before you buy. Volvo is a great car. Then, there were so many complaints about not getting perfect service. This is Hawaii. If you had treated them like o'hana, then you would have known that a lot of good people got head hunted by Chevrolet, and it takes time to find replacement personnel. This is Hawaii. And I can't blame the people, because Hawai is expensive. If you get a better offer, you take it. Complaining about the Service Department doesn't make sense. They don't want to see you over and over again. They are much happier when it gets taken care of the first time. Today I had my car in for service and Carmela did a great job, as did Mike, and the other service people. Did it get fixed? No, they had to order a part, but that's o.k. It will get taken care of. I trust them to do their best, but their best probably won't be perfect, because perfect isn't under their control. Stuff happens. People complaining about email communication. Really? I have been in technology for over 40 years. Technology is far from perfect. You send them an email. Sometimes they get it and sometimes they don't. Just like your business. Sometimes their system loses an appointment, etc. It really happens. I drove one of my oldVolvos 55mph into a pole. After a couple minutes I took off my seat belt and got out of the car. No injury, but my Volvo was totaled. Try that in another mid-size sedan. I care about my family, and that is why I drive a Volvo. If I ever more to Kauai, I will buy a Toyota Tacoma and then just pray on a more regular basis.
