Great COSTCO...really busy on weekends, as are most. I give them 5-Stars on check out counters for being fast and efficient on getting you through the line. 2-Man registers that get it done....friendly and courteous. NICE JOB .
Produce department is lacking. The children like corn on the cob when we barbecue. I bought the 8 pack of corn twice. Both times it was feed (cow lot) corn. Thinking I possibly cooked it incorrectly I cooked it various ways and adjusted the timing. It was tough every time. The corn comes from Mexico to Hawaii. Duh! Do not buy it unless you're taking it home for the livestock. But... the store itself is a mainstay for our family!
For those of you who stay in a condo...you have to attend Costco for all your food, drinks, wine, beer and hard stuff. The last day we were there was a sample day the boys ran around trying a variety of food and drink samples. we have been here about 10 times and we find the staff to be helpful and awesome.
Costco Hawaii Kai is easier to handle than the downtown one. It has less people for one. You don't have to steer clear. Heck you can even push your cart counter to flow without hitting someone. Sure, the Hawaii Kai store run out of favorite items faster but that seldom happen anyway.
This is my first experience with Hawaii's Costco. It was very crowded when I went and finding parking was a big hassle. Land is a premium so the parking lot was also relatively small. Inside, this Costco is similar to all the other Costco locations that I have visited. As expected, there are also locally made items here that are not found in the mainland Costco's. I was surprised to find the food court to be located outside the building.
