The Highway Inn is a must try for locals and those visiting the island. The food is delicious. Two favorites include the Poi Pancakes and Loco Moco. These may easily be the best on the island.

The Highway Inn is just that, for real. Amazing food with a staff happy to explain the details of local cuisine. Great prices, and a nice restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Not very cost efficient. The taste is acceptable. However, a full blown local boy would not be satisfied in the quantity with the cost. It's totally tourist acceptable with legit Hawaiian Local food.
I thought the food was overrated on here compared to the actual experience, and a little over priced. The salmon tasted off and when I commented on it the staff just shrugged. Staff were very friendly however and a good vibe in the place.

It can often be a challenge to find authentic food when traveling to big tourist cities like Honolulu.
Thank you for your awesome food and service today. My family came to Hawai'i from New Mexico a year ago, and requested to return there today on this holiday visit. Awesome place to eat Hawaiian food. Mahalo to all of you.
