* I actually sent this this review to Grylt and waited four days before posting - I still haven't heard back.
First off - the Kahala Mall location has been incredible every time I have been there.The staff has been super friendly, awesome and I always rave about that location. I have rated THAT location 5 stars.
good food for a decent price.
I barely made it home before I got sick. About 30 minutes after eating I was done. Stomach cramps, sweating, nausea, headache, and diarrhea. I haven't felt that bad in a long time. I called Grylt to inform them, wasn't in the mood to yell, just a heads up, don't want anyone else experiencing this. The girl that answered couldn't tell me who was in charge and didn't know how to handle the situation and said to call back later.
Now - the Ala Moana location. The staff was typical, not bad, but definitely noticeably not as friendly/happy. I ordered the seafood trio. Looked good enough, but tuna was fatty and stringy and NOT a good cut. I don't know a lot about seafood, but this was different than what I always was served at Kahala. The salmon was hard to get down too, pretty dry. I made it about half through the tuna and lost my appetite. I let the cook know that I normally am thrilled with Grylt, but that this meal was unsatisfactory. He explained that the cut was not choice, but its all they had. So they totally knew this fish sucked and he didn't really seem to care with a "it is what it is" attitude. He assured me it was fine and fresh (which i hadn't questioned the freshness until he said that) in a defensive manner, but just a lower cut. He offered to make me another plate, but I had already lost my appetite... Anyway, I walked away pretty disappointed without an apology or any attempt to make it right, other than making me another plate...
If they at least pretended to care, I wouldn't put them on blast. But that was lame. The Ala Moana location needs attention.
My husband and I came here and spent $40 on two meals that were completely cold. My husband has eaten at the other location and loved it. He said the staff was excited and the food was fresh. This was exactly opposite for this location. The girl at this location was rude to the woman in front of us because she wanted an extra dressing. The food was not fresh and completely cold. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE. We threw our food away, wasting $40 and got food elsewhere.
