This is probably the most magical hike I've been to so far on Oahu! The hike takes about an hour to get to the falls if you're walking fast. But it might takes you longer because you will be distracted by the amazing jungle. This entire place is so green and lush even in the summer heat. The falls it's self is tall but isn't gushing with water. The pools aren't deep enough to swim but going underneath the falls is a great way to cool off. This hike has you going through a lot foliage with some streams to cross. However this hike is amazing and I highly recommend!
After parking, you walk through a bamboo forest, and then what looks like an abandoned road, followed by a beautiful walk along a stream bed. Keep walking up the stream (or along the stream) and you arrive at an amazing waterfall. The hike may be difficult for older people that are prone to breaking bones because it is very muddy and the boulders are covered in algae or water (which makes them very slippery). The waterfall does not disappoint though. It looks approximately 150-200 meters tall, with a small pool at the bottom. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to reach the waterfall at a leisurely pace.
Beautiful! My favorite hike on oahu. It can be very muddy (especially following rainy days) and you will need to cross the rapids hopping from rock to rock. Overall the hike isn't too hard as long as you have good shoes. You start walking past a gate through bamboo forest then you enter a beautiful field surrounded by mountains and after that you enter the forest and walk up to the waterfalls. Path isn't marked so I would just follow the rapids
Cool ass hike and falls. Located at the top of the Pali Highway. There is a small parking lot on the right. I liked it better than Waimea Falls and Manoa Falls. Lulumahu Falls is harder to get to and less people. At times the trail seemed to disappear but if you just look carefully there are some trail markers. You definitely need adequate hiking shoes. Unfortunately I was not able to take a photo as my camera's battery had died. Will I do this hike again? Absolutely!!!
great ending. too much stream crossovers. too popular, hikers are not carrying out trash. trail not clearly marked.
