The view at the top is worth all that effort.
Fun neighborhood park for the kids.
Great place to watch the sunset the kids can play there's basketball courts bathroom but it's not really swimmable but you can walk out on The Sandbar all the way out to the ocean. We actually saw wedding going on on the far side of the park period is also tables and chairs there but be careful lock your car!
My favorite Oahu hike. It's usually pretty dry, but it can get muddy if you go soon after a big rain. I've done it with kids. My 11 year old has no problem. My 9 year old struggled a bit but got to the top.
You need to be in decent shape, and have strong knees. The big stairs near the top can take a toll.
