A family-friendly park that has a large grassy area with shade and beach access. On a Sunday, there were lots of small family gatherings with self-owned BBQ sets and people playing ukuleles. Heads up that the surf break straight out has some giant rocks and coral below.
Minutes to everything essential. Proximity of the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Diamond Head Tennis Center, a short drive into the Diamond Head Crater for a great hike. Lots of eating places throughout Waikiki area. Challenge is always the parking. Wear sunscreen and a cap...it is HAWAII.
Large grassy field- good for running, playing games, taking a dog, looking at pigeons or chickens, and drone flying. There is minimal tree cover- so also good for kit flying. I've never seen it crowded- so if you are planning an event, this might be your spot!
A very nice park with a lot of area for kids to run. A section of banyon trees with picnic tables is actually very cool. Waikiki in the back adds a nice touch.
Crowded park with lovely beach. Home of "12 Coconuts" daily AA meeting under the palm trees. East end of Waikiki just footsteps away from Starbucks and shopping. Sprawl on the grass or on the sand. Just so crowded though; but a nice walk east takes one away from the congestion. Enjoy it for what it is ~ a lovely park in a world class setting.
