Amazing experience and so many fish to see while snorkelling. I recommend buying snorkelling gear from wallmart as it's cheaper then renting. Definitely recommend coming here
Go early before 6:30 and get in free! Come after and you'll get a time ticket to go in. We got there at 6:30 and left around 9:30. When there isn't a lot of clouds the sun can be brutal. Bring shades, especially if you come with small babies and toddlers. We brought a beach tent. Tram is $1 going up and $1.25 going down.
Great spot. Theres a quick video to watch before heading to the bay. Snorkeling was okay. Not a lot of wildlife there at the time. Couple fish here and there.

My favorite place in Oahu! This place definitely has to be at the top of your list if you're interested in snorkeling and seeing some marine life. You don't even need to know how to swim as the fishes are so close to the coast! Protip - Get here early. We drove and reached here at 6.30 in the morning. The parking lot was around 1/3rd full, so we had no trouble finding parking. Plus you avoid $7.50 admission fee per person and $1 parking fee if you get here before 7 am. Added bonus, you will also be able to witness an amazing sunrise! Right after sunrise is the best time to snorkel as you will have better visibility than later in the day. We witnessed so many varieties of fishes! It was incredible! Around 8.30am-9am, the sunlight had become a little harsh, which affected the visibility under water. There are public showers on the beach and changing rooms inside the restrooms. By the time we left, approximately 10 am, the line at the ticket counter was huge! The parking lot was full as well. Easily one of the best experiences I've had. I would go back to Oahu just to visit Hanauma Bay again!
