I mean, if you have a baseline fitness level it is really easy. If you don't do any exercise usually you may struggle, but it's not impossible. Nice view from the top.

A must do hike while you are in Hawaii!!! It’s very easy for someone who is even mildly active. The view from top is breathtaking, on one side there is beautiful ocean and on other the crater. It was drizzling when we were on the top, so we got to see the rainbow. I would recommend going there very early in the morning to avoid crowds. It opens at 6 am, we were there at about 7:30, it started to get crowded there and we had trouble finding parking. Overall it was a wonderful experience!!!

Extremely easy hike, even if you are slightly athletic/active. I saw very small kids completing this hike, toddlers. Trail is very narrow so kids and slower hikers can slow you down. Nice area for picnics, bathroom, gift shop. Beautiful views. I recommend bringing water and wearing boots or sneakers. Saw someone wearing flip flop, really? She was sliding everywhere. I'd go again if I wanted a quick hike, took me 40 minutes up and down.

Fairly easy trail. Incline is steady but easy enough for most fitness levels. There are two sets of stairs that are fairly long and steep. The first is unavoidable and leads to a tunnel that, if you're claustrophobic or over 6ft I'm height, may be challenging. The 2nd set of steps can be bypassed by taking the 3rd, newer, set of steps that breaks the climb up into manageable sections. They are several photo ops on the way up. Views at the top are beautiful but the crowds can be annoying. Best to get there early to avoid the heat. Also gives you a shot at parking in the Crater.

Beautiful hike with awesome scenic outlooks. Good for all ages. Gradual and steep inclines, also involves stairs. The most annoying this is that people can't seem to read signs- such as "keep off", "trail ends here", and "no trespassing." Also- be aware there are no trash cans at the top- so what you take up must come down.
