Membership is worth it especially if you have children. New exhibits is always a nice treat throughout the year and we look forward to it. Members also experience first dibs to new exhibits. Thank you Bishop Museum!
There is a nice planetarium and various shows that change seasonally.
If you're looking for Hawaiiana, this is the place for you. The main wing is a permanent exhibit of Hawaii history and artifacts. There are rotating displays to two other wings, so make sure you check the website to see the latest schedule of events.
Awesome! So many cool exhibits showing the Hawaiian traditional concepts, religions, and even how it led to today! I really recommend this place of you are interested in Hawaiian culture, volcanoes, and more. Just watch out... To walk from building to building, you do have to walk outside. If it is a rainy day, there goes the fun. Definately come early if you would like to catch some of their planetarium shows, as those sell out quickly.
Very educational. Well kept. Don't like that parking is not free. Great place to spend a day with the family.
I take my son here all the time. It's an awesome place to spend the day exploring all the different exhibits and galleries. My son loves the interactive volcano that you can walk into! So cool!
The reason for the four stars is the length of the featured exhibits are way too long. With a yearly membership, you only get to see maybe three exhibits. For over a hundred dollars a year for membership, I'd expect more new exhibits being offered.
Another building is more science based exhibits. Try to see the lava demonstration.
