My favorite hike of the trip! Good basic hike but be careful of slippery rocks toward the top. GREAT scenery
Great hike with breathtaking views. My 74 y/o father did it with no problem and I saw many 3 y/o children on the trail so it's for sure for all ages. I was here in early November and the the trail was very muddy and wet so be prepare for that. If you are an experienced hiker this may not be for you. The frequent stops and slowing down of slower hikers might frustrate you. Parking is available for $5 standard rate or $3 military or kama'aha.
Heavily trafficked trail deep in the Manoa Valley. If you stay in Waikiki, this trail might be the closest to experience a tropical rain forest. $5 parking and short walk on the road to the gated trail head. It rains quite often here, even though Waikiki is dry. This trail used to be super muddy, but the state deserves some kudos for great improvements. There are nicer waterfalls on Oahu or streams with better swimming, but good location and short hike make this place super popular.
Great simple hike. Shady and cool on a hot day. About 90 minutes round trip at a comfortable pace. The upper parts right near the falls are slippery and muddy so good shoes are nice. It is a really touristy spot so there's plenty of obnoxiousness: people trampling foliage in search of selfies, dropping trash behind them, etc.
Really nice people. Very helpful with trail conditions and other question you might have. They even provide. The use a wash station for those times when everything. Is stuck to your shoe.
