The phlebotomist there could not get my son’s veins. Lord, he must have stuck my son three or four times. My son was hysterically crying by the end. Lord knows that he’s traumatized now. Now, I know it doesn’t feel good and kids are a bit more dramatic than us adults, but my son has had his blood drawn several times in the past three years but he has NEVER had an experience like the one we had here. The phlebotomists at the Waipio location where we always get it done always take their time and really check before they poke the needle in my son. Most times they get it on the first try, and even when they don’t they don’t go digging around in his veins. I mean, it did not seem like the guy was new or anything, just… not very awesome at having a gentle touch.

I had to come here to see a specialist here, Dr. Motosue (allergist). She was awesome. We had to get some bloodwork done for my son. The line was ridiculous. There was a woman at the front desk who couldn’t speak much English and the person at the desk just kept YELLING the same over and over to her. Don’t they have interpreter services at the hospital? Couldn’t the clerk call someone instead of yelling the same thing out to the lady, letting EVERYONE know this poor woman’s business? I’m sure it was a HIPAA violation of sort. She wasn’t deaf or hard of hearing from what I could tell, she just didn’t understand what the woman was saying as English was clearly not her first language. But I digress…

TLDR; Needless to say, I am not a fan of this location. I will try my hardest to avoid having to come here, and most definitely WILL NOT be getting my blood drawn here. If I need bloodwork, I will have to drive to their other locations and they just share the results or something.

Just getting to this place gives me anxiety! From trying to come in on the right street to get to the parking, to either risk being stuck on the ramp without rolling back (or making someone wait on the road and blocking traffic), to trying to find all the different stations and clinics.

This location is convenient to get Down too, however the waiting time is unbearable. The doctor is always behind schedule and I usually sit there for 2-3 hours

Been with kaiser since I was born. I know how things are, some good and many horrible, like the long waits for an appointment that your doctor had scheduled. I am more annoyed by the long wait on the phone to talk to someone. I even applied for the position for phone operator, but I guess I wasn't good enough to answer the phone for them (I have 10+ years of receptionist/office work experience). Not sure why the after hours care number is routed to California and they can't help because apparently our medical record numbers are way different there. The pharmacy email that is on the site to ask about your medicine is also routed to California. Why!? I dread dealing with Kaiser if I have to, but I mostly stay away unless I'm sick.

Service time is inconsistent but acceptable; sometimes we get in on a scheduled appointment immediately and sometimes we wait up to 3 hours in the doctors table. Hours could better match the public’s schedule; only open when we’re working, that’s not convenient.

I've been with kaiser since birth and have never had any problems. I like how I can switch doctors and refill meds online. But for the past two days I've been trying to reschedule an eye exam for my fifteen year old son and can't seem to get anyone on the line. I call other departments to ask for assistance and they transfer me over to the same line that no one picks up. I know I can schedule appointments online but my son is a minor and it won't even let me( the parent) take advantage of this option! He needs a new glasses prescription so I am forced to play the on- hold game till someone decides to do their job. Is there another way I can schedule this? Please correct this issue, I can't keep calling at different hours of the day hoping for a response.
