I am from Canada and moved here with my husband who has diabetes and is on insulin. He had his left leg amputated several years ago. While we were on vacation, we were walking around and he got bad blisters on the other leg and then got gangrene. We went to the emergency room and the surgeon wanted to cut his other leg off. We were horrified that my husband was to become a double amputated. We looked up Dr Sowers and she took care of his wound and now his gangrene is gone and his infection became okay. It was our good luck to find her and she was patient.
I went to Dr. Sowers in 2014 because I was having pain in my right foot. From arthritis I had a bone deformity on the top of my foot in the middle joint. She did surgery in August of 2014. Supposedly it was to shave the bone down to make my foot more useful and able to to fit into shoes easier. After the surgery the pain got a lot worse and every time I walked or stood for more that 15-20 minutes it would swell. I went back several times to try to understand what could be done for it. I received several cortisone shots with from her to alleviate the pain and swelling to no avail. I finally stopped going to her and started looking for another doctor to help me. I did find a great doctor at Strabb this past spring. I'm not going to name him here out of respect for him. Anyway,August 24th of this year I had to have reconstructive surgery to my foot. My foot will never be the same thanks to Dr. Sowers. My doctor now has done a wonderful job fixing my foot but when we requested my records from Dr. Sowers she never sent them. I've been trying to get my records with no success. I personally would NEVER recommend her to anyone. The worst experience with a doctor in my life!!
Avoid at all Costs . Totally unprofessional. I was told four weeks for deliverery for orthotics , I called back at 4 weeks and they still haven't set them off to be made. what I received look like a totally cheap product . the doctor told me i need a raise in the initial appointment and when the orthotics show up with out a raise. feed me a story about how it wasn't necessary. The orthotic were a disaster not only did they aggravate my current issue the cause some secondary issues. plus the the are still issue with insurance because the admin staff seem to be to lazy to finish the paperwork. Save your self some time and money. go some where else.
