Foodland is good, bring your card or get one whole you are there and save some money. Good selections also
This Foodland is the first supermarket in Hawaii. Did it kill the mom and pop grocery or convenient stores in the neighborhood? No, not really. This Foodland really feed the community with good produces and product. It add American Savings Bank to its space because it will add convenient to its shoppers. It add Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf because its shoppers long for coffee when they finish their grocery run. Foodland is a great store for the neigborhood.
Foodland is my favorite place to shop for groceries and for banking at ASB. Top notch produce, deli and meats. Senior day discount on Thursdays. The parking can be tight at times but they're hiring off-duty HPD and security company to help direct traffic making it more safe for pedestrians. The store manager, Jason, hires nice people who provide a plesesnt customer experience and he is almost always there keeping things running smoothly and the shelves well-stocked/organized. The people at the customer service desk are very helpful too.
Friendly, local feels, but the prices are just silly for being this far out of Waikiki. Also, zero selection, sadly, for normal, every day things like tea. But as always, some great manager's specials, and don't forget that pastry rack of dollar deals! Great people, produce, and a small version of their R. Field Wine Co gourmet food shop inside.
Pretty good seafood department. But I wouldn't buy the fried chicken. Always dry and burnt.
