Was a little hard to find the trail head at first. Was able to find a video on YouTube to see where it opens up. The trail was very short, walkable and easy. Definitely worth a quick visit.
Stay left. The trail on the right side of the fork is overgrown

On Oahu this is one of the most evocative places I have been. The hike out we got a little lost but it led to some beautiful wandering through a bamboo forest. When we finally found our way to the palace, the site was easy to interpret and the path back to the road was clear.
Easy little hike through some bamboo and it opens up to the ruins. It was a great day and experience.
Love, love this hike.
