Hike up the Diamond Head and easy and pretty fast. On the top you can see volcano crater and Honolulu with an ocean view. It is really nice hike especially for people who are not into hiking.

Be prepared to arrive at the Diamond Head State Monument as soon as they open, because it gets very very crowded. It took about an hour and a half for us to hike up and down.

Great workout and great payoff at the end if you’re at least somewhat healthy. There are parts where it gets narrow, so if you’re claustrophobic, you’ve been warned! There will be a lot of people.

From a historical stand point it is an awesome place and it offers great views, but definitely a bit crowded. So many people on the trail and once you get to the top it's hard to get good pictures with all the people around. It would be nice if you had access to all of the pill boxes up top. I would say it is worth the trip up even if it is crowded.

We had so much fun hiking up the Diamond Head. The view is so amazing that this place used to be a post used by the military for preventing the city of Honolulu from attacks. This is an easy hike taking you to this 300,000 year old crater; however, pay attention to the 99 steps at the end of the hike, because they can be dangerous. Make sure to bring some water with you as the only fountains available are located at the entrance.

Bring lots of water and sunscreen! It will be hot in the middle of the day.

Hiking Diamond Head is an awesome family activity. It rewards you with a submit view of Waikiki and beyond on one side and Hawaii Kai on the other. Hike early if you want it not too hot. Bring water, flash light and some snacks. All set. Diamond Head. For those curious ones, try ask someone why there is coral at such high altitude. Was Diamond Head once under water? Did the coral got blew upward from the eruption day? Why is Diamond head not a as round as Punchbowl? Have fun hiking!

There are parts that are not fully paved and a set of a very long staircase. I would not recommend it for very young children or the elderly.
