If others had the same experience as my 12 yr old St Bernard had today, this would be a one star shop.
I had to lift my 120 lb boy into my arms and carry him out of the clinic. Tonight he is still unable to walk. When he does try, the nail bleeds profusely and he crumbles in pain.
We chose this clinic for our tortoise after arriving to the island based on its customer service reviews. We were not let down, prices seemed to match the mainland prices, customer service was great and the lab tests were quick. Lucky for us the doc has his own tortoises so it was great to bounce ideas off of each other. He helped us treat for pinworms and a dietary issue. We will continue seeing them in the future
Dr. Leeloy was apologetic and let me vent my frustrations on her. She quickly looked at his skin condition. Recommended an ointment and antibiotics and charged us $261 for our trouble. They were gracious enough to waive the office visit fee.
Our lil man bootsie hasn't been feeling himself since the start of summer. We've been taking him to his usual vet since we got him 3 years ago but his symptoms worsened so we decided to take him to another vet for a 2nd opinion. She openly discussed his options with us. She is very compassionate and honest. From one Healthcare professional to another, that's really all you ask and you can't put a dollar value on that.
The staff is friendly and accommodating as well ;)
The Whole staff is just terrific but Dr. Leianne Lee Loy is our favorite. Super knowledgeable plus laser therapy or acupuncture. Outstanding care for my Molly
The friendly, most knowledgeable animal lover/caregivers. You can trust that you and your pet are in the very best of hands.
My wife and I were shocked, we demanded to see our dog immediately. We did not ask for the clipping, but they did it without consent. We would have refused had it been offered. Our dog is very old for his breed, the less stress the better. They dragged him into the exam room, because he could not walk, trailing spots of blood behind him though a blood soaked bandage on his back left paw. He was panting heavily.
We came in for some blood work to renew our Rimadyl and to have a skin issue looked at. After a long wait, the vet tech took him to the back for the blood test. 20 minutes passed and I asked Dr Leeloy what was going on. She informed me that while clipping his nails, they cut too short and now they were holding him down to try to control the bleeding. The vet tech said, 'Don't worry, we won't charge you for the nail clipping.'
Dr Sakamoto is the bomb!
This has been my worst vet experience by a large measure and ranks in the top 5 of my worst life experiences. If you have to bring your friend here, keep a close watch on them. I would recommend steering clear of this place all together.
