I gave the school 3stars because of the teachers dedication to their students and its 5 weeks for each class. The only part that doesn't seem to work out for anyone is the financial aid department. There were multiply occasions were the financial aid didn't cover the classes and I had to pay out of pocket. Also, if you are in the military or prior experience in military, they don't help you that much too. I've had many military students mention they school always put the money on hold.

I obtained both my bachelor's and master's degrees from UOP in Hawaii, so I know, firsthand, the actual amount of time and work involved to complete each course. With that being said, I am so sick and tired of people saying we "bought" our degrees from UOP. If I "bought" my degrees, then I was seriously ripped off because I know, for a fact, I worked really hard to pass each of my classes with as many "A's" as I could possibly achieve. I attended other state colleges too, in the past, and they were no harder or easier, or more significantly informative than the lessons taught at UOP. I honestly believe you will always get what you put into anything you endeavor to succeed in. And, yes, there were lazy students at state colleges too, as with any school out there, including UOP. I think it is "those" students that are writing negative and bitter comments about the credibility of UOP. They believed the derogatory public hype and assumed they could put in minimal effort to obtain an accredited degree, only to realize they actually had to put in an extreme amount of work to pass each class. Disappointed and disgruntled, they quit and badmouth the university because it is far easier to blame the school rather than themselves for their own subpar performance and/or inadequate level of intelligence (possibly lacking even the minimum required by all colleges) - as is standard for students hoping to pass an actual college level course. From my own personal experience, the only significant difference between UOP and traditional colleges is the convenience and flexibility they offer for "non- traditional" students, who have to work around a schedule that includes full-time jobs and/or families, most with children to attend to. It's bad enough that honest, hard working students, who have successfully obtained their hard-earned degrees from UOP, have to sometimes deal with the stereotypical elitist prejudices from would-be employers that consider a UOP degree as substandard...but to be degraded by actual substandard people who couldn't even hang with the program, is just plain ridiculous. Bottom line...an education is what you get out of it, no matter where you got it from. I, for one, am proud of what I accomplished at UOP. They allowed me to achieve my educational goals within a flexible and realistic schedule that worked for me and my family.

The learning facilities they have here are excellent, better than most research universities (which I've worked for and attended a few). The upper faculty reach out to the community as well. I was very impressed. If you want the most bang for your buck and time--as far as actual learning and education is concerned--this is the place.

I was an instructor here for a time. It was a long training process, but the quality of the instructors here is amazing. Not just good instructors, but fantastic people. I felt like if you stuck them all in a room together you could solve the world's problems.

The financial aid department is incapable of functioning as it should. They consistently give misleading and incorrect information. They do not follow through on anything. This has been the worst decision I have ever made. A huge financial burden and an inept University. Not worth money or the stress. Go elsewhere! You will be more respected for doing so.
