I graduate from that in the 1988 its still great
The teachers make this a great school. The students at this school get more scholarships than most other public schools.
My son is thriving at KHS. The main reason is the robotics program. Their mentor Bryan Silver is the 2016 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.
This school really captures the image of a hawaiian school
As a student at Kalani, it's apparent that one of the favorite conversational topics among the general student body is how much the school sucks. You could say we love to hate it. But overall it's not actually a bad school. The teachers care if you do, and you will get help if you ask for it. (I think the students who submitted the other reviews didn't.) There's a nice variety of clubs, and the orchestra is pretty good, though it doesn't receive as much public attention as the band. Not saying the band is better, it just gets more attention because the program is older. There is also a laptop renting program for all the students, and school-wide wi-fi; but to access it you need a school laptop or a hacker friend who knows the password. In general the kids are nice, if you don't look for trouble by actively hanging out with the bad ones. There is a marijuana problem, but again, so long as you know the right people, or at least not the wrong ones, it's all right. Normal number of fights, from what I hear, but at least they're "civilized" enough to take it off campus. As always, it's really common sense people, just pick your friends with anything that's not utter stupidity, and it's an adequate school.
