This is the most beautiful and historic building in Hawaii. If you can only visit one historical site during your visit, come here. Take the guided tour, which is inexpensive and run by well trained and enthusiastic volunteers.

Iolani Palace was pleasant surprise. I was pleased to learn more about the history of Hawaii and its last monarchs. We opted for the audio tour and cruised along just fine. The tour was informative it took us through different rooms inside the castle. Our 4 year old had to be strapped in a stroller and all of us had to wear shoe covers, provided by the palace management. Lots of historical artifacts in the basement. Parking is tough, just like anywhere else on the Island, but we were able to park underneath the state building across the street for a nominal charge. Keep quarters on you for parking.

An amazingly beautiful and history saturated place. It (the grounds) is open to the public from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm seven days a week. Tickets are also available for purchase if you wish to explore the interior of this incredible historic building

The "Aloha" of this beautiful palace, seems to have been diluted. Perhaps through the years of public office. I much prefer conservation to restoration. And it seems the Hawaiian people were able to step up and stop somewhat the restoration of the throne's, and place a conversation on them. All said, definitely worth seeing.

We, people HAWAII, Hawaiian & non-Hawaiian, celebrated our last Queens 100 death anniversary at Iolani Palace. Iolani Palace is the only Palace in Untied States. Full of culture & history. A must see if you are ever in Honolulu, Hawaii. We Hawaiian are very proud & honored to be an Hawaiian as all other races. A must see. Just being on the Place grounds you feel/sense the presences of the love the Queen had for her poeple. Remember the Palace has electricity before the White House.
