4 min walk from the main entrance, but I like this old-fashioned bookstore. Staff are friendly, nice and very quick.
While I normally dont post anything I have to say something. The barnes and noble shop itself was fine and had a wide variety of books and training materials. My gripe is with the coffee shop. I came in the morning bought a coffee, some food, and settled in for a long study session. At noon i was asked to leave because i wasnt going to buy anything for lunch. As a paying customer i am insulted that i had to give up table and interupt my studies because they needed the room. Do not go to this coffee shop. It was extremely rude and made me not want to go to a barnes and noble coffee shop again. I have never been so rudely asked to leave (esspecially after purchasing food and coffee). Spend your money elsewhere. Go to the Starbucks down the street. Anyway buy your books and go somewhere else.
This place is HUGE and has a wonderful variety of not just books, but educational toys for kids AND board games for adults. Really enjoyed browsing and could have easily spent hours there. Lots of discounted books too.
I've ordered books that they didn't have in stock & they came through with delivery. There seems to be a vibrancy in the store, like good things are hapenin' expectations...
I believe this is the last of the large bookstores on Oahu so I'm really hoping they are successful and continue to remain in good financial standing. Amazon has really taken a toll on these businesses...
The specific reason that I shopped there today was to look for a Christmas gift for my mom. I know she likes to read about certain subjects so it's a very easy shopping day for me. Sure enough B and N had that very book that I'm certain she would enjoy.
I really enjoy visiting the Barnes and Noble book store at the Ala Moana shopping center. It has what I consider a very good selection of books on all major topics. Unfortunately I do not get to go as frequently as I would like. It's a distance to drive and, as one would expect, finding parking is sometimes challenging especially during the holidays. The reason for my 5 star rating is due to the large selection and helpful staff. They give good book suggestions when I ask about things so they are quite knowledgeable.
